What is 710 Day?
710 is another “stoner” holiday similar to 420, but this day is specifically for cannabis in the oil form – “710” is also “OIL” upside-down. There is no specific origin of this holiday, but it gained traction as dispensaries gained popularity across the world. When we discuss oil, there are a lot of different names – concentrates, dabs, shatter, budder, badder, sugar, sap, RSO. If you want to learn which one to start with, talk to your local budtenders or ask questions online. I have found that talking to people in my medical community can be the best way to find new and powerful plant medicine and knowledge.
I used to be a flower girl. I hadn’t even tried a dab until over a year of having my medical card. I was honestly afraid of having to use a torch because of how clumsy and prone to injury I am…. I won’t lie and say that I haven’t been burned before… But I have now become an oil girl. The best motivation comes from a nice, fresh dab. I prefer sugars over budders or shatters. I like to use the Puffco Pro, a terp slurper, or just a regular dab rig, though I do frequently require assistance with the blow torch and like to have my “designated dabber” nearby. We were excited for 710 to see what deals and what events would come by.

“Crucial Culture presents the JukeJoint at LunaGarden. Baltimore’s only Sunday afternoon Cannabis Networking Event. Meet people in, and around the Cannabis Industry. Dance your pain away to the musical stylings of Baltimore’s own Karizma.”
I attended the “710 Day” event at Luna Gardens in Fells Point. I am happy to say that this finally went off without a hitch! There was originally an event scheduled for a few weeks ago, but unfortunately they had to cancel. The extra time actually allowed for some more excellent vendors to join the party! A few included Mana, Elevated Wellness Center, Select/Curaleaf, Upling, Rolling Bouqe, Crucial Culture, Extreme Terpz, ReLeaf Shop, WeedMaps, and the MJ Connect. If I missed any, feel free to comment or reach out to me!
I love these community events because it brings people together and helps connect people that normally would never have met or interacted. Cannabis brings people together in a way I have never seen before. The space was open and the outdoor area was warm, welcoming, and jazzy. They had a DJ in the corner of the deck that played for the entirety of the event. There were small tables with chairs on the deck, with bags of small goodies on each table, in bags labeled with “Crucial Culture”.
The swag bag included items from Curaleaf, Grassroots,
I want to shout out some friends that always bring a smile to my face and are very involved with the cannabis community in Maryland.
> ExploreMDCannabis / TheConnectedCEO – Keisha is one of my favorite souls to encounter in the community. We are prone to screaming and running at each other with a tackle-hug. Her posts are educational and informative, and she is one of the best people to ask about events and information. Please check out her website, which is linked above. Become a member and get more involved!
> Cannaquestt – such a creative and mind-blowing human. His TikToks and reels are straight to the point, educational, and span over a variety of topics. His sense of humor is super relatable and I find most cannabis users absolutely LOVE his posts for including real talk about flower, terpenes, and patients. He’s a budtender like me and I cannot wait to go see him in action! I have linked his YouTube with his name above.
> MJ Connect – Terrell knows how to throw a phenomenal event, a thoughtful food/clothing drive, and he knows good cannabis deals. His website gives information on daily deals around Maryland, as well as links to these dispensaries. It also includes Pop-Ups & Events, a list of Certifying Doctors you can contact for renewal, and other retail shops that are cannabis-friendly. I have linked his website with his name above.
I met a bunch of other cool people and talked about the cannabis industry in Maryland, so if that is one of your goals, you should absolutely attend the next one! Follow the MJ Connect on Instagram for links to info about all of these events and more. The next one is coming up within the next few weeks!
How did you celebrate 710? I will attach some photos below of some of my favorite 710 pics/concentrates.
