It was an honor and a privilege to be invited to an exclusive event at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022. The event started at 7PM upstairs at the Aquarium. As soon as the escalator brought you to the top, you were greeted by some friendly Select faces. They provided you with a raffle ticket and sent you in to the main area.
Walking in, there were tables with non-medicated samples of the new X-Bites. The room was primarily glass, leaving us with a beautiful view of the harbor and water. A saxophone player enhanced this experience, keeping a mellow, calm flow. To the left, there was a caricature artist, capturing the grins on everyone’s faces as they posed. There were multiple tables of food, a table of items that would be raffled off, and a bar.
I grabbed a drink and plate of food, then sat down to enjoy the music and settle in. People began to fill in the space and I was pleased to see so many familiar faces from dispensaries and brands in our area. Shortly after everyone settled in, they began with the presentation. We got to hear from many people on the Grassroots/Select/Curaleaf team on their numbers and statistics this year, how their operations are changing, and what we can look forward to in the future.
The newest addition to the Select brand is their X-Bites, coming to dispensaries within the next few weeks. These X-bites are edibles like the Nano Bites & Classic Bites, but they are more effective.

These bites currently come in three flavors – Strawberry Spacewalk, Orange Matter (tastes like a creamsicle), and Rainbow Upload (lime, orange, raspberry).
The X Bites are said to have an onset time of 30-45 minutes. These bites are formed using Liposomal Encapsulated Cannabis Oil, which protects and delivers more THC into your body. Read more about X Bite technology here. I did get a chance to try the Orange Matter non-medicated samples and they remind me of a creamsicle flavor. I can’t wait to try the medicated versions when they hit the Maryland market within the next few weeks. Let me know if you see them and which flavors you like!
I truly cannot express how cool this event was. I had been dying to go to the aquarium for a few years and hadn’t gotten the opportunity. Being able to go to the aquarium when there were no other people besides those for the event was so surreal and a calming experience. We loved being able to roam through the exhibits and take pictures on our own time. I feel like my childhood dream of having the aquarium to myself kind of came true! Incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow cannabis and ocean-lovers in such a phenomenal way.
