When I was a senior in high school, I was not into athletics. But yet I still managed to get multiple concussions.
The first one is a frustrating one. One of my brothers had left some bar soap at the bottom of the tub. When I was showering, I slipped and fell. The faucet hit me on the middle of the back of my head. I remember getting up and thinking nothing of it. I went to sleep an hour or so after my shower. The next day, I was in class when I got a wave of nausea and it sounded like I was under water. My vision was blurry and I felt hot. I went to the nurse and after restating my last 24 hours, she determined that I had a concussion. I was sent to my primary, where they confirmed. I was sentenced to my room, with no screens and no school for two days. I missed the senior picnic and picture.
Two weeks later, I was cleared from the concussion. I went over to a friend’s house to drink (come on, we were seniors!) I had some vodka. After a few shots, I went to sit back in this “springy” chair, when it sprung my head into the wall, in the same spot I had hit in the shower. I started getting dizzy and overheated so someone took me outside for air. While sitting on the porch, I tried to lay back on the porch twice and instead hit my head on the mailbox that was sitting on the ground. A friend took me upstairs and got me into pj’s and into bed. The guy I liked at the time and my “best friend” were attempting to hook up with me in the room, so I puked in the bed that I was in. I don’t remember much of the rest of the night. The next morning I had to clean up myself and the bed. My head was a mess, but I never did get seen again after this incident.
More to come soon! Headed back to work. Thank you for your time.
